Been quite a while since I last posted here. Well, have been busy taking care of Matthew and with work.
Talking about work, it is becoming more of a chore than a joy. Don’t get me wrong. I still enjoy meeting people and helping them when I’m at the counter (be it reference or customer service), conducting tours for visitors and library workshops for users. I just don’t like the paperwork, emails and stuff that comes along with the work. I feel bog down by those and am losing interest in my work. Well, that has inadvertently affected my performance at work. Guess work is no longer fun. Need to find back that spark in my work life. Well, will be looking around for opportunities out there, but I’m still very much interested in the library field.
Enough with my ranting. Recently Cameron Moll turned down an opportunity to work at Apple. Go read what his reasons were for turning down the chance. He’s really a brave and decisive person. For me, I’m sure I would have jumped at the chance. But I guess with a family, it’s a little more difficult to just uproot and leave, particularly if your kids are a little older. That’s another reason why we are making plans to move Down Under as soon as we can. We feel that it’s better to bring Matthew over when he’s still very young as he’ll have less to adapt to as compared to if we brought him over when he’s older and used to the system in Singapore.
