A study conducted by Scottish and Canadian have concluded that sitting up straight is extremely bad for your back. The ideal position when you’re sitting is to reclined backwards at 135 degrees with both feet touching the floor.
The study involved 22 men with healthy backs and they were made to sit in three different positions, slouching, sitting up straight and reclining, and observed through a special MRI machine.
The study concluded with the following results:
Guess I’ve to recline more when I’m sitting down to prevent backaches, particularly given the number of hours I’m sitting in front of my laptop, though I’ve to make sure that I don’t slide off the chair. And we might have to look for a better chair for the study at home, just like the ProBlogger.
