BBC recently reported that taking a nap in the middle of day reduces the risk of death from heart disease, particularly for young healthy men.
The study was conducted in Greece for six years and they found that those who took 30-minute naps at least 3 times a week “had a 37% lower risk of heart-related death”.
What is significant in the study was for working men who managed to grab midday naps. There was a 64% reduced risk of death. The researchers feel that it’s because taking an afternoon nap helps reduce stress. They also found that countries were taking naps is prevalent, there were lower incidences of mortality from coronary diseases.
