Came across this article on Yahoo! News about the need for companies to allow some form of swearing at work as it increases team spirit and morale of the workers as determined by some management researchers from the UK. Apparently, swearing amongst co-workers help bring staff closer together. However, the researchers noted that swearing shouldn’t be done in front of your bosses or, worst, the customers. Think I’ll need to swear more at work, but think my colleagues are a little too proper to look at me kindly on hearing me swear. 🙂 Might not fit the image they have of me as well. *hahaha*
And from The Guardian, researchers from the London Business School have found that the teams that come up with the most innovative ideas are teams that are made up of even proportions of men and women. One of the reasons stated is because whoever is in the minority, be it male or female, will tend to clam up and not speak as much if they was no clear majority.
Well, from the two articles, I gather that in order to have an effective team working harmoniously and productively together, the team will need to have an even proportion of males and females and be allowed to swear at their workplace. 🙂
What do you think?
