The video is created with a mixture of time-lapse photography and videography.
BTW, the video was commissioned by Koryo Tours, a tour operator for those interested in visiting North Korea.

Visual Effects from Game of Thrones Season 4
Haven’t started watching the Game of Thrones yet even though a number of colleagues in the office have been raving about it. I just might start watching after viewing this video of the wonderful visual effects done by Mackevision that were used in Season 4.
Wonderful step-by-step (sort of) of how they did it.

Parenthood – Apple’s New iPhone 5s Ad
Apple released a new commercial today about parents use the iPhone, iPhone apps and other hardware accessories in their daily lives with their kids.
I have definitely used the iPhone’s flashlight to look for Matthew’s blanket in the middle of the night after he has flung it off his bed.
Will need to go check out some of the apps and hardware accessories that I saw in the commercial. I saw a Withings Smart Baby Monitor, WeMo home automation, and Kinsa smart thermometer.
I quite like the brushing teeth app, MyTeeth although Matthew is now a little too old to still have to learn how to brush his teeth properly.
Numerous Permutations from a Deck of Cards
There are 80,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 permutations possible from shuffling a deck of playing cards. That’s 80 and 66 zeros after that.
From the video, “Any time you pick up a well shuffled deck, you are almost certainly holding an arrangement of cards that has never before existed and might not exist again.”
